1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Research Organizer handles information when you use the browser extension and this website.
2. Information stored locally
The extension stores your saved text, page titles and URLs, notes, favorite status, collections, interface language and settings in Chrome local storage on your device. This research library is not uploaded to the Research Organizer subscription server.
3. Account and subscription information
If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier and email address to create an account session and connect your subscription status. We also process your plan, billing period, subscription status and related payment identifiers. We do not request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts or profile content.
4. Payments
Paid subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy. Payment card and billing details are provided directly to that payment provider and are handled under its privacy policy. Research Organizer receives the information needed to confirm and manage your plan, such as subscription, customer, order and product identifiers and subscription dates.
5. Extension permissions
- Storage: saves your library, preferences and session information locally.
- Identity: enables the optional Google sign-in used for account and subscription access.
- Website access: lets the extension show the save control on supported web pages and capture the text or page you explicitly choose to save.
Research Organizer does not sell your information, build advertising profiles or transmit your general browsing history.
6. How information is used
- Provide and maintain the extension.
- Authenticate your account and verify plan limits.
- Create, manage and verify subscriptions.
- Respond to support requests and prevent abuse.
7. Sharing and service providers
We share information only with providers needed to operate the service: Google for sign-in, Lemon Squeezy for subscriptions and payments, and hosting infrastructure for account and subscription status. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users and the service.
8. Retention and deletion
Local research data remains in Chrome until you delete items, clear extension data or uninstall the extension. Account and subscription records are retained for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and prevent fraud. You may contact us to request deletion of account data we control.
9. Security and children
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure. Research Organizer is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
